Wozniacki Runner-up in Indian Wells

18 March 2013

At the WTA Premier tournament BNP Paribas Open, currently on its 25th year, No. 8 seed Caroline Wozniacki (VCORE Xi 100) advanced to the women’s singles final to meet No. 2 seed Maria Sharapova after winning in a close match against another YONEX player, Angelique Kerber (VCORE Xi 100) by 2-6 6-4 7-5.

It was Caroline’s third time playing at the Indian Wells final, claiming the title once in 2011. As a result of reaching the finals, Caroline’s WTA ranking moved up to 9th.

We are very proud of Caroline, Angelique and Maria Kirilenko(EZONE Xi 98PTGP125) for getting into the last 4 at such a big tournament. Attacking with the EZONE Xi racquet, Maria claimed big victories against Agnieszka Radwanska and Petra Kvitova, taking her ranking to 13th from 15th. Two VCORE Xi players, Caroline and Angelique, also impressed tennis fans with their superior performance with their racquets. You can hear their impressions for the VCORE Xi on the microsite from the link below.

This week, another WTA Premier tournament, the Sony Open Tennis starts in Miami. Caroline was the semifinalist last year, and she’s aiming for the better result this time.
