Introducing a World First Revolutionary Graphite

Namd has been devised in combination with Nitta Co., Ltd.

ASTROX 77 uses a world's-first, new dimension graphite material, Namd, which greatly improves the adhesion of the graphite fibres and resin by attaching nanomaterial directly to the graphite fibre.

In high performance racquets, it is common to combine nanomaterials with resin that connects graphite fibres, but in Namd, nanomaterials are directly adhered to the graphite fibres and the degree of adhesion between graphite fibres and resin is greatly increased. This major improvement produces a shaft that flexes and stores energy, delivering explosive force on impact with the shuttle.

Introducing a World First Revolutionary Graphite

Namd has been devised in combination with Nitta Co., Ltd.

Namd is difficult to harden when compared to conventional graphite, even when the loading speed (swing speed) increases.

Explosive Power

Smash Comparison

At high speeds, the new shaft makes a longer stroke in the same time frame.

From the initial movement of the player to the impact, the new dimension graphite is difficult to harden, and the shaft extends and accumulates energy due to the speed of the fast swing. Since the follow-through of the swing is smaller after direct impact with the shuttle, the swing speed drops and the new dimension graphite regains hardness and strengthens the resilience of the shaft, allowing the energy to explode rapidly before returning to its original state.

Explosive Power

Drive Comparison

At slower swing speeds, the new shaft maintains stability for better control on drives.

The stiffness properties of Namd inspired graphite, produce a sharper hit.

Weight Distribution

By applying the counterbalance theory, weight is distributed throughout the grip end, frame top and the joint for maximum control. The transition to the next shot can be performed smoothly with a rapid succession.

ISOMETRIC™: The World Standard, Set by Yonex.

Originally developed for tennis racquets, Yonex ISOMETRIC™ tennis racquets immediately supported the top athletes in winning major titles. For the very first time, a square-shaped racquet was designed to maximize the sweet spot by increasing the intersection of main and cross strings.

The ISOMETRIC™ Legacy: Continued Evolution

In 1992, Yonex released the first ISOMETRIC™ badminton racquet, and has since incorporated the signature technology in all its racquets, including the ASTROX 77, gaining the trust of the world’s best players.

The signature Yonex ISOMETRIC™ racquet revolutionized badminton with a greatly expanded sweet spot compared to a traditional oval frame. With an expanded sweet spot, players were now able to strike the shuttlecock with the upper area of the frame, resulting in higher head speeds and forever changing the pace of the game.

In 2017, the ISOMETRIC™ square-shaped frame technology celebrated its 25th anniversary.

The ASTROX 77 is an attack-orientated model which can take the lead in a high-speed game with a design that can deliver powerful, steep smashes, allowing you to dominate the court.
